Full disclosure: I own Right Line Trading, and our AI AutoTrader is one of the ready-made systems below. Every price and term here was taken from the vendor’s own website on September 29, 2026. Several vendors load prices dynamically, so where I could not confirm a number I say “not published” rather than guess.

“Automated futures trading software” really means two different things, and most articles mix them up. There is the platform that connects to your broker and executes orders, and there is the system (the strategy logic) that decides when to trade. Some traders build the system themselves inside the platform. Others buy a ready-made system that runs on a platform they already have. After 25 years building industrial automation, I think of it as the controller versus the program: you need both, and they are bought separately.

The short version: for retail futures traders in 2026, NinjaTrader Desktop is the most common automation platform because it has a free tier, a no-code Strategy Builder, and the largest library of third-party systems. TradeStation, MultiCharts, Sierra Chart and Quantower all support automation too. TradingView does not execute strategies automatically without a third-party bridge. If you want a ready-made system rather than building your own, the main NinjaTrader options are our AI AutoTrader, QuantVue, NinjaBot AI, TradePilot AI and AutoFuturesTrader.

How to pick

  • Do you want to build or buy? If you have rules you trust, a platform with Strategy Builder or a scripting language is all you need. If you don’t, a ready-made system saves months.
  • Add up the real cost. Platform fee + data + commissions + the system itself. A $197/mo system on a $99/mo platform with $40/mo data is $336/mo before commissions.
  • Look for live proof. We trade our systems live on YouTube every trading morning because screenshots are easy to fake. Ask any vendor to show you the same.
  • Check refund terms before you pay. They range from “all sales final” to conditional 30-day guarantees.
  • Run it in sim first. Every platform above supports simulation. Use it.
